Welcome to SastoApp ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and our website (sastoapp.com).

SastoApp is a localized consumer-to-consumer (C2C) marketplace platform designed for users in Nepal to buy, sell, and trade secondhand items.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a functional and secure marketplace experience, we collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you register, we collect your full name, email address, username, phone number, and profile photo.
Verification Documents: For sellers requesting the "Verified Seller" badge, we collect citizenship document images (front and back) and a verification selfie. These are stored securely on Firebase Storage and accessible only to administrators.
Listing Data: Details of the items you list for sale, including titles, descriptions, prices, location, and photos.
Chat Messages: Messages and images exchanged between buyers and sellers within the app's real-time chat interface.
Location Data: Province, district, and municipality details to sort and display listings by proximity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To enable C2C transactions and facilitate communications between buyers and sellers.
To verify seller identity and award verification badges to maintain a safe marketplace.
To display relevant ads via Google AdMob.
To send push notifications regarding new messages, listing approvals, or account updates.
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time.

To request data deletion, you can contact us at support@sastoapp.com. Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete your user profile, verification documents, and active listings from our databases within 7 business days.

5. Security of Your Data

We use industry-standard security measures, backed by Firebase Security Rules, to ensure your data is protected against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Direct access to verification files and user chats is strictly restricted.

By downloading, installing, or using SastoApp, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

2. User Conduct & Prohibited Items

SastoApp is a community marketplace. You agree to use the platform responsibly. You are strictly prohibited from listing or trading:

Illegal goods, drugs, weapons, or regulated substances.
Stolen property or counterfeit items.
Explicit or adult content, or services violating local Nepalese laws.
Scams, fraudulent listings, or misleading advertisements.

We reserve the right to suspend or ban users and remove listings that violate these rules, without prior notice.

3. Disclaimer of Liability

SastoApp is a platform facilitating connections between independent buyers and sellers. We do not own, inspect, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any listed items. Transactions and meets are done at your own risk. We strongly advise meeting in safe, public places and verifying items thoroughly before making payments.

4. Premium Subscriptions & Payments

SastoApp offers optional premium subscription tiers for sellers to gain extra visibility. Payments made through eSewa, Khalti, or FonePay are subject to manual review by our administration team. Subscriptions will be activated once payment verification is completed.
